Naseeruddin Shah is once again in controversy for his statement. Veteran Bollywood actor said in an interview with Wire that Mughals were refugees, he added that “Mughals came to India to make it their homeland and gave the country lasting monuments and traditions of dance, music, and painting”.
In the 35 minutes of the interview, Naseeruddin Shah is presenting his point of view on Karan Thapar’s question “What does it feel like to be a Muslim in Modi’s India”?
The Netizens are trolling Mr. Shah on this statement. However, the interview is bigger than one statement which is being trolled.
In the interview with Karan Thapar, he said “the so-called atrocities of the Mughals are being highlighted all the time. We forget that Mughals have actually contributed to the country”. He also expressed his views on Haridwar hate speech case.
Before this, the Netizens were irked by his statement on rising of the Taliban. He stated that “Indian Muslims must introspect if they want reform and modernity or live with outdated barbarian values”.
Not only regarding politics and history, but Mr. Shah also had to face criticism for calling Rajesh Khanna ‘a poor actor’.
