HC KARANATKA ADJOURNS COURT TILL FEBRUARY 14

Thursday: The three-judge bench of the Karnataka Hijab row adjourned the court till Monday.

Till then, the court ordered police to put prohibitory effects around 200 meters radius of educational institutions under Section 144 CrPC against any gathering and protest around the premises.

Earlier in the day, the court denied the prayer to move the case to the apex court of India. The cabinet is also waiting for the court’s verdict before taking any sort of decision on the issue.

The court also asked students to not wear any religious things till the matter is resolved, and it will pass an order to reopen the institutes. The court insisted to maintain peace and tranquility.

The case was moved to a larger bench on Wednesday; the bench now comprises Justice Krishna S. Dixit, Justice JM Khazi, and Cheif Justice Rithu Raj Aswathi.

Today, protests took place in the capital. Activists of the wing All India Student Association took the streets against Karnataka’s government on banking Hijab. The capital police detained the students from forwarding towards Karnataka Bhavan.
