Harsha, an active member of Bajrang Dal was stabbed by a group of men while he was on the way to have dinner at Bharathi Colony near New Thirthahalli Road.

A day after the attack police arrested three suspects Khasif and Sayed Nadeem from Shivamogga and a third person from Bengaluru where police had got reports of protest on Sunday after Harsha’s murder.

The police suspect that the reason behind the murder can be the recent post that Harsha uploaded related to the Hijab row situation in the state that might have disturbed the sentiments of some groups.

After further investigation, it is found that more than 5 cases of assault and attempt to murder have been listed under the murdered Harsha but none were reported to arrest him before his death.

Ashok Swain, chairperson of UNSECO took on his Twitter on the case and he said that “Harsha was a Hindu and hence he was not arrested for his crimes and he was an activist because he was a Hindu if he was Muslim he would have been titled a terrorist”.

After the incident took place the people of Bajrang Dal came out on roads on Monday. Till now, 20 people have been badly injured and over 50 vehicles have been set on fire.

This has led to a state of curfew in Shivmogga till 6 AM on Wednesday to prevent any other happening in the region.

2 days prior to his death Harsh had posted a picture wearing a saffron scarf in protest at the Sahyadri College in Shivmogga in support of the Hijab row.

The state government has taken the case into their hands where the district minister of Shivmogga KS Eshwarappa will request the chief minister Basavaraj Bommai to take the case to the National Investigation Agency.

In the recent updates after the case sister of another protester, Harza Shifa who is a student of Udupi and a petitioner of the current hijab row case has put allegations that her brother was attacked by the supporters of the hijab removing and part of the second wing.

She said that after the situation in Shivmogga the heat has reached Udupi and this heat took her brother away and these attackers should be punished with the appropriate decision.
