Nagaland: 13 civilians were killed in Nagaland on Saturday in the Mon district by Indian unidentified Indian army personnel.
The incident took place at around 6:30 p.m. when the army ambushed a ferry van carrying coal miners home from work. The army mistook the workers as Naxalites. Seven people were killed in this ambush. The villagers came to the spot and attacked the security forces in anger. They killed one force member that caused firing from the army that caused six civilian deaths.
This incident caused a disturbance in the area, police forces deployed in the village, and the army personnel were taken to the Konyak Union office in the Mon District office. Mob attacked the office and vandalized it. The office and two vehicles were set on fire by the mob. One civilian died during the open fire by the security forces in the office.

The authorities imposed a curfew and internet ban in the town for an undefined time.
Union Minister Amit Shah expressed his disappointment in the incident and assured justice to the kin of the civilians who died in the incidents.
On Sunday, the Nagaland government announced 5 lakhs ex-gratia for each of the families of 13 civilians who died.
