CYCLONE ASANI: HEAVY RAIN LIKELY TO HIT ANDAMAN, BANGLADESH, AND MYANMAR

As per Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the depression over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast BoB, about 110 km ENE of Port Blair, and 320 km NNE of Nicobar. 

The Depression is suspected to intensify gradually into a huge cyclone resulting in heavy rain and storm in the next 12 hours. 

As per a recent tweet of IMD, a light to medium rainfall or a thunderstorm at most places can be suspected. And heavy rainfall at isolated places and areas may occur during the next 12 hours, especially over the North Andaman Islands. And heavy rainfall in the isolated places of the South Andaman Islands can be expected. 

North East India is likely to experience scattered or moderate rainfall during the next 5 days. The depression currently at the Andaman Sea is to intensify further into a Cyclone Storm during the evening hours of today and cross the Myanmar Coast tonight.
