DISCUSSION ON UKRAINE CRISIS BETWEEN INDIA AND FRANCE

On the first day of his three-day visit to France India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his French counterpart Jean Yves Le Drian.

The external ministers of both countries had a discussion on the current Ukraine crisis with French President Emanuel Macron to solve the issue on the diplomatic ground of the issue.

S Jaishankar took on his Twitter handle to inform that he also had a discussion on the bilateral relationship between the countries, the Indo-Pacific discussion and he said that Le Drian showed a positive response.

India and French have decided to have the second round of the discussion next month while Jaishankar will be conducting a press conference on a mission for Indian envoys in Europe and the Indo-Pacific relations.

In the second round of discussion, the information will be discussed on geographic and defense issues of the countries. The discussion also includes the technological advancements between the countries.

In his meeting with the European envoys, Jaishankar has a view to discussing the vision of PM Modi’s assessment of ambassadors to India.

S Jaishankar said “It’s not because there are three countries who are treaty allies. We are and will not be a treaty ally. This is a 21st-century type of response to a more diversified world.”

Before this Jaishankar had discussed the problems with China at the Munich Security Conference. During his visit, he also spoke on the Quad alliance including Australia, the USA, and Japan.

In his discussion on European ground when asked about India’s role in European security in the Ukrainian crisis on which Jaishankar said that these events were different.

In his statement, S Jaishankar said “We have quite distinct challenges which are happening here or on the Indo-Pacific. If that would have been the seen then there would have been a number of European powers in the Indo-Pacific. We have not seen that since 2009.”
