EXTERNAL AFFAIR MINISTER PROVIDES FOR SHARED VISION FOR OPEN INDI-SPECIFIC

India and the other participating countries in the Quadrilateral Security Group or QUAD on Friday incited the working on the free and open coordination between the Indo-Pacific boarders.

The countries have also decided to coordinate the delivery of the COVID 19 vacancies across the borders.

This decision was taken during the fourth meeting which was held in Melbourne, the foreign ministers of the countries India, Australia, USA, and Japan started the changes and cooperation in several important areas like COVID 19, maritime security, and the rules and regulation based order in the region. This will create a base for the next QUAD meeting scheduled in the first half of the year in Tokyo.

Before their talks and making of the decision, the foreign ministers of the countries met the Australian Prime Minister to discuss the vision generated by QUAD leaders.

S Jaishankar in a joint news conference held after the meeting said that the foreign ministers have had a productive discussion. He added that the bilateral relations between the QUAD nations and shared democratic values have helped for a shared vision of free and open Indo-Pacific borders.

Jaishankar also said, “The Quad members are of a view to continue to support their partners in ASEAN to assure peace and security in the area and build on the people-to-people linking through education.”

Australian foreign minister Marise Pyne said that the rules-based system that the QUAD members are considerate for the pressure due to authoritarian nations. She added the members will support and navigate overflight across the borders. 

The QUAD coordination aims at producing one billion COVID vacancies and delivering them across the borders.
