February 6: An FIR was booked on eight Shiv Sena leaders including the party president of the Pune district, Sanjay More for assaulting the leader of Bhartiya Janta Party Kirit Somaiya.
Kirit Somaiya on 5 February was attacked in the Pune Municipal Corporation when he was in Pune where he went to lodge an official complaint again Sanjay Raut’s advisor Sujit Patkar in the case of the Lifeline Hospital Management Services Scam which was worth Rupees 100 crore during the pandemic of COVID 19.
The party leaders who have been alleged of the crime include Chandan Salunke, Kiran Sali, Suraj Lokhande, Akash Shinde, Rupesh Pawar, R Rajender Shinde, and Sunny Gavte.
The accused have been booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 143, 147, 149, 321, 336, 337, 323, 504, 37(1), and 135.
Before being assaulted Kirit had brought evidence against the owner of wine business Sujit Patkar that his company of the hospital was a fraud which had taken 100 crore rupees for the purpose of opening Covid centers in Mumbai at Dahisar, Worli NSCI, Mahalaxmi Racecourse, and Mulund.
After being discharged from the hospital Kirit Somaiya said in his statement that the people involved in the issue will be arrested and a proper investigation will be performed and no will be speared.
