On the verge of the election pools in Uttrakhand, the high command of the Indian National Congress on Thursday expelled the former state chief of Uttrakhand, Kishore Upadhyay for a time period of six years. The action on the political leader was taken on the reported allegation of anti-party activities.

It is not the first time that Upadhyay has been booked because of his actions. Earlier he was removed from his respective post for his inter-disciplinary action. Before the action taken on Upadhyay he was the president of the Congress party from 2014 to 2017.

On 26th January a letter was addressed in the name of Kishore Upadhayay wherein the information for his expelling was specified that has to be followed with immediate effect. The PCC in charge of Uttrakhand Devender Yadav said in a press conference that the decision has come across after several warnings given to Upadhyay. He has also been accused of being on talking terms with the Bhartiya Janta Party and other parties, Devender Yadav added.

After the expelling and the actions taken on Kishore Upadhyay, according to sources he is likely to join the Bhartiya Janta Party on the 27th of January and he might contest in the upcoming elections from the Tehri constituency.
