Punjab (Pathankot): A grenade explosion occurred outside a gate of the Triveni cantonment in Dheerpur, Pathankot, this morning.
The police investigation is in progress. For now, police informed that the explosion was caused by unidentified motorcyclists who hit the grenade at the Triveni cantonment gate. Residues of the grenade have been recovered from the site. The CCTV images are under a verification process. No further information has been given from the police.
Tha area is under alert. No injuries are reported from the explosion.
Pathankot’s air force base was attacked by heavily armed terrorists in 2016. Two died from security forces. One of them died on the spot while the other died after a few hours of the injuries.
