Monday 28 Feb 2022: Indian students constitutes a prominent section of the education structure of Ukraine. It has become difficult for the Indians to persist in Ukraine in the current scenario. “Indian students who are in the conflict-hit Ukraine should try to move towards the Western side of the country and stay in nearby towns and not reach the border directly “ – says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or MEA today.
They are suggested to cross into neighboring Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania and surely with the cooperation of the authorities, the Spokesperson of Foreign Ministry’s told reporters today. Over an estimation of 8000 Indians left Ukraine since the MEA’s first advisory. Almost over 1,396 students are safely brought back to India by organizing six evacuation flights till now. In the next 24 hours, three more flights have been planned – one from Budapest to Delhi and more two from Bucharest to Delhi and Mumbai.
The MEA requested the students and their parents not to panic about their children’s homecoming. Flights availability should also not be a matter of panic he says. He also says “ Once you cross the Ukrainian border we will ensure more flights “.
According to reports, four Union Ministers are sent from India to the neighboring countries to control and cooperate with the evacuation operation of the Indians – VK Singh to Poland, Hardeep Singh Puri to Hungary, Jyotiraditya Scindia to Romania, and Kiren Rijiju to Slovakia.
Overall, the main concern is to ensure Indians are able to cross the Ukrainian border safely and also return to their home properly in a good state.
