INDIA’S FIRST OMICRON CASES COME FROM BENGALURU

Karnataka: The government confirmed two cases of the Omicron form of the dangerous Coronavirus in India on Thursday. Both positive individuals were reported from Karnataka, according to the Union Health Ministry. The patients are 46-year-old and 66-year-old males, respectively.

On December 2, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) told ANI that two secondary contacts and three primary contacts of a 46-year-old male had tested positive for the Omicron variant of Covid-19, and their samples had been sent for genome sequencing.

Meanwhile, 373 cases of Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 have been detected in 29 nations so far.
