The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced some new rules before he starts of upcoming 15th edition of the Indian Premier League(IPL).
Now, have a look at new rules that have been added up in IPL 2022-
- If the Super Over cannot be staged after regular playtime for any reason, or if subsequent Super Over cannot be staged to break the tie, the BCCI has ruled that the side that finished higher in the league table shall be proclaimed the winner.
- The BCCI has also decided to follow the Marylebone Cricket Club’s (MCC) decision regarding incoming batsmen after a catch dismissal in IPL 2022. Regardless of whether the batsmen have crossed over or not, the incoming batsman will now take strike after a catch dismissal. If the dismissal occurs in the final ball of the over, this will not acceptable.
- If a team is unable to find a full team The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said that it will “at its discretion” try to reschedule the match for later in the season. On a match day, each side should have 12 players available for selection- 11 on the field, at least 7 of whom must be Indian, and one substitute. If rescheduling is not possible, the issue will be sent to the IPL’s technical committee which will make a “final and binding” decision.
- DRS reviews to be taken by each team increased from one to two in each inningngs.
After BCCI introduced these new rules, many players have not been impressed by rules which implement the new batsman taking the strike. It feels like there will be lots of controversies regarding these new rules in the coming days but as of now be the true fan and support BCCI and enjoy the upcoming edition of Incredible Premier League which will begin from 26th March, Saturday.
