Karnataka: The video of Kartanak’s legislative assembly is being shared on the internet which shows Karnataka Congress Senior MLA Ramesh Kumar trivializing rape.
The video shows MLA Ramesh Kumar saying “when rape is inevitable, it is better to lie down and enjoy it”. The video shows the speaker and other MLA’s laughing at the phrase. The comment was made by the former speaker during the ongoing winter session in Belgavi.
The MLA was stating this metaphor on the chaos in the house. The Congress senior MLA made this comment when other MLA’s were asking for more time from the speaker for discussing farmers’ issues in the assembly. On this the speaker asked MLA’s to take the decision on their own, he looked at former speaker Kumar and said ” let’ s enjoy the situation, I can’t keep this situation in control and take it in a systematic way.
To this MLA Kumar replied with this metaphor. He later apologized on Twitter.
