MOZAMBIQUE RECEIVES 500 TONES OF FOOD AND SELF DEFENCE EQUIPMENT FROM INDIA

Naval ship INSKesari entered the Port of Maputo in Mozambique and delivered 500 tones of food aid, along with 2 Fact Interceptor Craft (FIC), and other self-defense equipment to assist the nation in the fight against terrorism. This is the eighth edition of the Mision Sagar by Indian Navy for helping friendly neighbors in the region.

On Sunday, the Navy said that “the deployments were conducted in solidarity with India’s extended Maritime Neighborhood and highlight the importance of accorded by India to these special relationships”-reported The Hindustan Times.

Mozambique is going through a drought and facing an economic crisis due to the pandemic and ongoing fight against terrorism. The self-defense equipment will be useful on the North Borders where the tension remains.

The UN reports revealed that there is an expansion of Terrorism in central Africa since mid-2020.

Indian Navy has deployed the ships to 15 countries since May 2020 under Mission Sagar.
