A unique project named “The Chillar Project” Also called “Ek Sikka Ek Muskan” is brought into action by the Non-profit organization ‘Little India foundation’. In this project; they encourage people to save their loose coins, which in turn could be used to provide food to deprived individuals. The basic thought behind their step is that ‘every loose coin if saved for a month will add up to provide a meal for those in need’.

Other than this, ‘One Meal a Day’ and ‘The Annual Art Calendar’ are other interesting initiatives of their organization aimed to help the less fortunate. The organization distributes ‘100 meals’ every day.

They have a passionate and enthusiastic team who want to bring positive change into society.
One of the members is Harsimar Chawla. She is the director of the corporate office of Little India foundation. She helps in managing the day-to-day activities of the organization. She is spreading smiles by helping the underprivileged across the Delhi NCR by celebrating their birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. One can always write to her for getting a meal program sponsored. She also received the ‘Global Achievers Award 2021’ for working enormously for the upliftment of women.

Shama V. Soni leads the social media platform ‘Nari Shakti Awards’ and ‘Club Fe’ which are unique initiatives by their organization to help females connect with each other for their empowerment.

Saleem Khan, founder of the little India foundation(NGO) received the ‘Global Achievers Award’ in 2021 for his exemplary work in social service. He is a humanitarian who wants to make India a hunger-free nation. He says that “one always needs to be helping hand to each other. It’s not an easy thought to be a person who donates time, money, experience, skills, or talent to help create a better world. But we all forget to contribute towards the society we build, we live”. Anyone can be a philanthropist, regardless of status or net worth. All one needs to do is find help, connect the right people or organization, if not time, find out people who are involved on-ground support to create a better world to live in, for u and me together”.Support them morally, encourage them, get involved with them when possible, share your special occasions or day of celebration with the underprivileged.

The organization is associated with “FSSAI Food collection Programs”. They have volunteers to collect food and distribute the same among the needy.

They are active throughout Delhi. The organization also held a ‘Quilt Distribution Drive’ in parts of Bihar.
