Tuesday: The government has not taken any decision on the privatization of two public sector banks, informed the Finance minister during the discussion on Tuesday.
In the Union Budget of 2021-22, the government had announced its intent on privatization of two Private Sector Banks in the year, and the approval of a policy of strategic disinvestment of public sector enterprise- informed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed Rajya Sabha in a written reply to a question in the privatization of public sector banks.
The aim of this step is to involve the enablement of growth of the public sector enterprises through the infusion of private capital, technology, and best practices -said the minister.
The bill related to the privatization of the public banks was introduced for the winter session that ends on 23 December.
