The already fighting for the semiconductor automobile industry has got a great hit due to the truckers’ protest in the country of Canada.
Hundreds of truckers have been sitting on a protest against the state for getting vaccinated before crossing the US border leading to the busiest bridge connecting Canada and the United States of America.
The transport minister of Canada Omar Alghabra said that such blockades will have serious implications on the economy and supply chains.
“I have already heard from automakers and food grocers. This is really serious cause for concern”, Alghabra added.
The CEO of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers Association (CVMA) Brian Kingston stated the possible further damages for the automobile industry if the situation remains as it is right now. He further said “Blockades at Canada’s borders are threatening fragile supply chains which are already under pressure due to shortage because of the pandemic.
About 2.5 million trucks that are estimated to park on the bridge are approximately 25 percent of the total trucks’ full goods that travel between the two countries.
The entire matter of the protest has now taken a political turn with AP stating the trucker spokesman Tom Marrazo highlighted that the protesters want to overthrow the three-time elected Justin Trudeau government.
