Three Kashmiri boys were arrested for cyber terrorism after India’s defeat to Pakistan; conviction is pending.
The three Kashmiri boys who were arrested after they were found celebrating and circulating messages on the account of Pakistan winning the T20 game against India back in October 2021 are still in remand in Uttar Pradesh after a complaint was filed by a leader of the Bhartiya Janta Party.
The three boys Arshad Yousif, Inayat Altaf, and Showkat Ahmad Ganai are engineering students living in Agra who were convicted under cyber terrorism for promoting hatred between different groups on the basis of religion.
The three boys are part of the 14 Muslims across the country who were arrested under the same crime after the completion of the first match in October.
Even after the number of requests the students have not been granted any legal aid as they were refused to be entertained because they have been alleged of being anti-nationals from the state or center. They were also attacked by mobs while they were brought for their hearing in the Uttar Pradesh High Court.
When asked for bail for the students the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh filed a case of sedition on the accused.
Since then the parents of the boys are seeking help from someone so that their students can be free.
In an interview, the parents of the boys went out of their pain.
Inayat’s mother, Wheeeda said “ My son only loved cricket. He was not interested in anything else like politics and he was dedicated for his studies.” “We got to know about the incident from social media on October 27 and we have filed over 100 pleas since then and I would request the government to consider them as their sons and forgive them”, she added.
It is to be seen what will the court decision after the boys get a lawyer to fight the case and what turn will the case take.
