On Republic Day, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin announced that an All India Federation for Social Justice will be formed soon to work towards achieving the concepts of federalism and social justice at the national level.

This federation will be represented fairly by leaders of the underprivileged from all states, he said at a national webinar on ‘Taking forward the struggle for social justice and the joint national program (JNP) for social justice movement,’ held on Republic Day under the auspices of various social organizations across the country.

“Those who are truly interested in social justice will be a part of it.” “This federation will make strong recommendations for all states to subscribe to social justice laws,” he said.

Though the number of people in the backward classes varies in every state, the ideology of social justice remains the same. “Everything for everyone will be the foundation of this federation,” the Chief Minister said, “which will fight to accomplish the values of federalism and social justice.”

“Painstakingly paved over the decades, stone by stone, with the sweat and blood of numerous trendsetters like Dr. Natesanar, Dr. T M Nair, Sir P Theagarayar, A T Panneerselvam, and Panagal Arasar,” Stalin stated of the path for social justice.

The Chief Minister said he was delighted that the “seeds of social justice seeded by the Dravidian movement had bloomed across the country,” pointing out that the concept and necessity for social justice are the same. His new program, aimed at inclusive growth for everybody, will be announced as soon as possible.

Stalin, speaking on the 27% reservation for OBCs in the All India Medical Quota, said the central government gave the impression that it had assured the community’s reservation. The DMK, on the other hand, played a significant role, he said, noting that his party took up the matter at multiple levels and guaranteed that social justice won.

The Supreme Court ruled that the DMK’s case and Saloni Kumar’s complaint are distinct. The DMK filed a contempt of court complaint after the Union government refused to budge, and the Supreme Court ruled that reservations must be enforced.

“On July 26, 2021, India’s Solicitor General stated that the Centre would follow the court’s decision,” the Chief Minister explained.

He called it a “win” for OBCs and Scheduled Castes, saying that social justice entails providing social equity in all aspects of life, not only work and education.

Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, Dravidar Kazhagam President K Veeramani, and DMK MP P Wilson were among those who took part in the webinar.
